You may remember me mentioning in this post that I was attending a murder mystery dinner this weekend. It was 1920s/godfather themed, and I was so excited for it. While researching what to do with my costume, I saw I totally could make my own 1920s styled headband. So I did: for three bucks! Thank you dollar store. Here's the final product:
So cute! Totally made my costume. Especially cause my dang fishnets kept falling down all night. But let's save that story for awkward and awesome Thursdays, shall we? ANYWAY. Here's how to make one!
Supplies:
-stretchy headbands
-black feathers
-rhinestone accent
-felt or ribbon
-hot glue
-scissors
Steps:
Step 1: Gather feathers. I used black feathers already attached to a cheap headband. I'm glad it was cheap cause those babies pulled right off!
Step 2: Prepare your rhinestone accent. Mine came attached to a hair band, so I just cut off the elastic part.
Step 3: Hot glue the rhinestone accent on top of the feathers
Step 4: Hot glue the elastic headband onto the feathers, and use felt or ribbon to cover it up. I would normally use felt, but I made this on vacation so I didn't have any on hand. Grosgrain ribbon worked fine, and I just burned the edges so it wouldn't fray.
And voila! All done! Easy peasy. Your very own 3 dollar 1920s style headband.
I'll be sharing this with all the link parties in my header including Today's Creative Blog and Christina's Adventures
