Trying On My Wedding Dress

There's an episode of Gilmore Girls where, out on a Bachelorette party for Lorelai, Emily shares how excited she was to be getting married:

"But the thing I remember most was that for the entire week before my wedding, I'd wait 'til my mother went to sleep, and I'd sneak out of bed and I'd put on my wedding dress and my tiara and my gloves, and I would stare at myself in the mirror and think how very safe I felt. How very right and wise and honored."

At the end of the episode, Lorelai breaks off her engagement and wants to run away with her daughter Rory. When questioned why, Lorelai cries and says that she didn't want to try on her wedding dress.

I would like it to be known, I do not have that problem.

Even though my dress is heavy and has a lot of poof and is ridiculously difficult to take off by myself, every time I'm home from school for break, I try it on. And stare at myself in the mirror, and grin like a fool. A love stricken fool who will be getting married four months and 4 days from today.

I definitely will not be running away :)
