This project has been one of my favorite wedding DIYs so far!
I got the idea from the Etsy shop Suzy Shoppe . So, if you are a bride-to-be and love this idea but do not have a ton of time I would recommend going there to get your guest book, because this was actually very time consuming!
Even though I had to put a lot of time into punching and folding and measuring and gluing these little hearts, I just love how it turned out!!
I bought the square frame from Michael's on sale for about $15 dollars. The inset was 12 x 12 inches so it was the perfect size for scrapbook paper. I bought a textured silver paper for the base and used left over shiny silver paper from my paper cones for my pew decor to punch out all the little hearts.
On one hot pink heart I put our names and the date of the wedding <3
I'm so happy with how it turned out! There are 100 hearts and we have 100 people exactly coming to the wedding, so everyone will have a spot to write their name!
I still have a few more projects to share for the wedding. We'll see if I get them all up before hand though...may have to wait until after. I've just been occasionally bursting into tears lately planning and doing everything for this wedding alone! The wedding is in 16 DAYS! Argh!! I know everything will get done but I'm just not quite sure at this point, lol!
Anyway. Lots of love. I'll pull myself together over here...hopefully soon!

Oh my gosh!
ReplyDeleteThat is so adorable! I got married forever ago when nobody did anything by hand. And now I want to divorce my husband just so that I can remarry him again to be able to make things like this for the event!
You did a great job. :)
Omagosh. That's AWESOME!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful! I love this idea! I love DIY home decor ideas--especially ones that are super simple!
ReplyDeleteGreat job!!
That's awesome! Love the pink heart. I can't believe it's 16 days! I can't wait to see some pictures from your wedding.
ReplyDeleteAnything DIY is great for a wedding! It really shows who you are as a couple and just adds that special touch. It looks great:)
ReplyDeleteeeeeee!! (that was an excited squeal!) I LOVE IT!! So absolutely perfect...the frame is great too!! We did a signed mat for our wedding "guestbook" and used a Micheals frame too :) LOVE LOVE LOVE how yours turned out!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThat is super cute! My sister in law is getting married in October, this would be so cute for her. I'm thinking it's going to be a small wedding where something like this would be perfect. I am going to pass this on to her. And I'm with Lesley, although it has only been 4 years for me, I keep seeing some cute ideas and secretly wish I was planning my wedding too, Lesley you could always renew your vows. :)
ReplyDeleteDon't cry, Becca! Your guest book is beautiful and your wedding will be too! :) Call me if you need to vent or want another bride-to-be to commiserate with. Love you!
ReplyDeletewhat a lovely idea!

ReplyDeletethanks for linking up to Make it monday! I've shared your link on the Brassy Apple FB page and on twitter too!
You'll get the important things done - and this project turned out great! It's funny - we spend so much time, agony, and yes - tears - planning our weddings. Now, 7 years later, I have so many far more vivid memories than my wedding day!
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool idea. Now I need to find someone that's getting married soon and share the idea.
ReplyDeleteADORABLE!!! This is such a sweet, clever idea!! You will treasure it forever! :) Would LOVE for you to link up to our Uncommonly Yours link party! ;)

ReplyDeleteThanks for linking up to this week's Catch a Glimpse party! I will be featuring this tomorrow!
Wow! I'm getting married in 18 weeks, and I am a new follower!! Definitely 'borrowing' (read: stealing) this idea!
ReplyDeleteDeep breaths, and remember: if anything goes wrong on wedding day, it just makes for a good story later!
How lovely to attach your wedding date to it! I did something similar inspired by Etsy as well, but it means so much more when you associate it with an occasion that's memorable for you!

This seems like a lovely idea, thank you for sharing and congrats on your big day!
ReplyDeleteThis is so adorable!!! I'm getting married in June and saw a guest book like this on Etsy recently. How did it work out for your wedding? And if you don't mind my asking, what size heart punch did you use?
ReplyDeleteAnonymous, it worked out well for the wedding! and I believe my heart punch was about 1x1 inch, maybe 1.5 but not bigger than that
ReplyDeletePleаѕant рostіng but I'm not sure that I agree. Then again, folks consider me challenging at the best of times! Thanks a lot.
