As a jewelry maker, I love being able to look at jewelry online or in a store and be able to say, "oh! I can make that!" I've been enjoying making some knock-offs lately, and I'm challenging myself to make more!
I also would LOVE to get some ideas from my fabulous readers. Do you have your eye on a lovely piece of jewelry that's way too overpriced...and you wish you knew how to DIY it?? Please, leave me a comment!! I'm going to try to do at least one knock-off a month and would love some more inspiration.
Here are some of the pieces on my to-do list:
So many pretty things that I know I could make so easily! Now I just need to get some crafting time!!! Us newly weds like to spend our evenings snuggling...I need to break myself away a little more for some creating! :)
Share your knock-off ideas in the comments!! I've also started a board on my pinterest to keep the requests organized. :)
I have so many! Here are my recent faves

LOVE the first one. You could totally do it.
ReplyDeleteI've seen lots of amazing jewellery I think I could make (I used to make a jewellery once upon a time - although not with your skill!). But I often find I can find a similar knockoff at Target or other budget stores that is cheaper than I could get the supplies anyway. I think the beads are a lot more expensive where I am though! I love the colourblocked necklace - gorgeous! xx

I honestly think about doing this every time I see a new necklace or earrings. I just ordered supplies off ebay this weekend to make a necklace I saw that was $99!!! Could never bring myself to pay that price. I made a DIY statement necklace here and the idea of it came from an expensive piece.
