Tree Embroidery With Initials

I finished this embroidery project when I was in college and never got around to displaying it. I finally pulled it out of storage in my craft room this past weekend and realized that it's the perfect time to put it up now that autumn is approaching!

Tree Embroidery with Carved Initials

First, I obviously did the embroidery. I got the pattern for free from The Modern Lady.

Then I got one of those $1 wood frames from Michaels and cut a piece of cardboard the size of the insert and taped my embroidery around it. Super neat, right? Hey, it's in the back!!

I mixed some paints together and painted the frame a coppery/brown

Such a pretty fall color

Plopped in the embroidery, and I was good to go!

S & R for Shawn and Rebecca. Awww :)

It looks perfect up on my fall "mantle" aka shelves. Can't wait to show you the whole thing after I finish tweaking my arrangement a little bit!

I'll be linking up to these parties:

  6. Oh, I love this!! Before my husband and I got married, he carved our initials in a tree when he was camping in WY and then we had the picture of it displayed at our wedding. This past summer we visited WY and found the tree where he carved it. I am working on a gallery wall and I just MAY have to include something like this.

  8. What a cute project! I love to embroider, and do a lot of it for my baby, but it's hard to come up with projects for my husband. I think this would make a great anniversary present. Thanks for linking to the pattern.
