Pink Chair Redo

So a little bit ago I redid a cute pink desk for my room. I didn't have a chair for it though...so I went digging through my basement and found this ugly chair.

And decided to redo it!

Fair warning....my dad helped me a lot with this project. The chair was pretty beat up. For starters one of the pieces of wood was broken so my dad used some wood glue and clamps to fix it. And then he was nice enough to prime that spot up for me :)

I sanded the rest of the chair down and then primed it and painted it with leftover paint from my desk redo

Then I took a look at the seat part of the chair. It was pretty old and gooky and had like 12 layers stapled on it already.

I was just going to peel some off and recover it but my father kidnapped it one day and brought these back: a new base out of some scrap plywood, and a matching piece of foam he got for free from some upholstery man he knew.

We covered it with some pretty pink fabric I got as a remnant for 2 bucks.

And then stapled that sucker on

Screw the seat back on and tada! A cute pink chair.

It goes perfectly with my cute pink desk :)

Total cost: $2 bucks for the fabric, which I still have some left for and have another project coming up soon using it :)

I'll be sharing this with all the link parties in my header including Today's Creative Blog and Christina's Adventures

  1. That's cute! Your dad is so sweet to help you like that. :)
I think it's hilarious you used the word "gooky" because I use it all the time!

  2. That chair is beautiful! I think you did a great job. Aren't handy Dad's just great? I'm a proud daughter of one too. I saw pink in the title and had to check out the post. The pink shade you chose was perfect. Girly but not overpowering. Thanks so much for sharing :) Now I really want to go buy some garage sale or salvation army chairs just to redo them!
