DIY Owl Mobile

Ok ok. I promise this is my last post about owl related craft items for a veryyyy longtime. (Missed an owl post? Owl embroidery here, Owl Paper Lanterns here, and Felt Owls here). All the owl crafting is because my sister is about to have her very first baby!! She's doing an owl themed nursery, so for my gift for her shower I made her an owl mobile!!

PS. Mobile's are extremely difficult to take pictures of!! But you can get the general idea!

I showed you how to make the cute little felt owls in this tutorial...

But I also thought it would be cute to have a few stars and a moon on the mobile. I traced some stars out on felt (PS- i cut that star shape out with my Silhouette, I could just NOT draw a non-lopsided star, no matter how many times I tried!!)

I cut the stars out, stuffed them, and sewed them up using a blanket stitch.

To make the mobile frame I used two different sized embroidery hoops and tied them together with some string.

Then after a lot of figuring out how to balance it properly, I hung the stars, moons, and owls off of the frame.

These little owls are just so cute :)

Here's my sister opening it up at the shower! And there's me too. Check out them curly locks. I was having a good hair day that's for sure.

And here's it hanging up in the nursery! I got the attachment to hook the mobile onto the crib off of amazon. I wasn't really a fan of the white color, but that was the only one I could find! Oh well, it serves its purpose. Hopefully baby will enjoy looking up at the cute little owls soon!
