Strawberry Pretzel Salad Recipe

I would like to take a moment to introduce you to something extreeeemly delicious.

Strawberry Pretzel Salad

Well hello there scrumptious!

This is one of my favorite desserts.  I still meet people who have never even heard of it before. Thus, I feel like it's my duty to help spread the word.  :)  The "salad" is made up of three layers: sugary/buttery pretzels, cream cheese filling, and strawberry jello.  I'm not a jello person really, but this combo really WORKS!

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups crushed pretzels
  • 1 1/2 sticks of butter
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 8oz. package cream cheese
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 container of coolwhip
  • 1 package strawberry jello
  • 16oz frozen strawberries

Steps

Crush up about 2 1/2 cups of pretzels and mix in melted butter and brown sugar until fully coated.  Pour into a 9x13 inch greased pan. Bake for 10-12 minutes at 350 degrees and then take out and let cool.

While the pretzels are baking, make the jello according to the box instructions and then pour in the frozen strawberries.  Refrigerate until partially set.

To make the cream cheese filling, mix together the cream cheese and sugar until combined then add in the cool whip.  Take a moment to lick off that yummy beater and enjoy it :)

After the crust is cool and the jello partially set, assemble the salad! Spread the filling evenly over the pretzel crust.

And then pour on the jello mixture (sorry for the crappy pic!) Refrigerate until the jello is completely set, around 3-4 hours.

Then, serve & enjoy.  Because I'm telling you, you're REALLY going to enjoy this :)
