Mini Canvas Flower Design Tutorial

Well, I'm all moved into college for my spring semester and have been having lots of fun decorating my white, boring, drab walls.  I mean look at this empty space over my bed:

I think I just got a little more depressed just looking at this picture. Think of how much more depressed I would get looking at the real thing everyday.

So, into a new series of tutorials of drab to dazzling dorm decor.
That was a lot of Ds in a row.
I kind of like it.

DRAB TO DAZZLING DORM DECOR

Ok that was fun. Got that out of my system. Now: on to the tutorial!!

Mini Canvas Flower Design Tutorial

Aren't these adorable?? I love love love them. And it's super easy to make! Here's how:

Supplies

-Three mini canvases (i got mine at Joanns, they were 3 x 3 inches)
-Three different color paints
-Paint brush
-Tacky Glue
-Paper
-Cricut Machine and cartridge

Steps

Step 1: Use your cricket to cut out three different flower patterns.  My pattern came from the "Plantin Schoolbook" cartridge. I made my images in the 2 1/4 inch size.

Step 2: Cut your designs down to fit on your canvas.  These are what mine looked like right from the cricut, and I just cut out three different sections from each one.

Step 3: Paint your three canvases and paper flower cut outs and let dry. (Don't put too many coats on the paper or it will get too soggy)

Step 4: Coat the back of your flower cut outs with tacky glue, and then press it firmly down onto the base of a different color canvas.

Step 5: Mount your canvases on you wall and your done! I just used command strips to keep mine on (so many regulations for what can be put on college walls!)

I love um! And so many possibilities for different kinds of designs!

  8. Remember, prevalence picked up by this type of painting one must be certain that the nature of items that they purchase would be something that would make every single individual achieve an abnormal state of fulfillment.
