Failed Craft Projects

We all have um. I guess I'll show you so I cam get rid of these horrible pics from my blog material line-up...

Project One: Tissue Box Redo

Got this tissue box cover from the thrift store.

Mod Podged some scrapbook paper on it,

And added some cord and ribbon details.

Too bad the cord doesn't cover up all the gaps of the paper...and the ribbon I mod podged on the sides was white and when it dried it just kind looked like I put tape on it. Also, it's blue. I'm a pink gal, this matches NOTHING i have. What's the point of an unmatching ugly tissue box cover??
die tissue cover, die.

Project Two: Little Miss Momma Knock-off Necklace

You've all probably seen this great tutorial by LMM. Well, I wanted to make my own! I thought I'd be thrifty and use an old pair of pants my dad was getting rid of.  So I gathered my supplies,

Cut out a bunch of pants circles...

Hot glued away...

But my necklace just did NOT turn out pretty. I blame it on the pants. The fabric gave me weird stains on my fingers and frayed a lot. I also have NOTHING to wear this color gray with so I've never worn it.
die ugly necklace, die.

Project Three: Dried Flower Frame

Fiancé sent me pretty flowers for Valentines day, and I wanted to keep them somehow. So I dried the flowers and thought I would mod podge them onto a picture frame later.

After they were dried I painted a picture frame pink and then mod podged them onto the frame...but it looked too boring so I decided to add a little rick rack.

I still can't decide on the final result though. Maybe I shouldn't have zig zagged the rick rack? I like the little flowers in the corner, but think it looks to busy or something now. blah.
become pretty you little flower frame!!

So...there they all. My crappy crafts. *cries* Naw, I'm pretty much over them by now...onto better and bigger things I suppose!

  1. I love this post! It's good to know I'm not the only one that has craft failures. :)

  2. I love it when people post crafting failures! As for project #1, I'd try to get as much off as I could (sand it down if you have to), give it a coat of pretty pink paint and slap a cute vinyl graphic of some sort on the side. Just an idea.

  3. I love that you posted your failures...although compared to my own, I wouldn't exactly call these failures!

  4. I can't believe you call these failures! They all worked, just need to tinker with them a little. This is a great post though!

  6. I love craft fails. let's me know I'm not alone :)
However, I DO think you're being rather hard on yourself.....these are nowhere near the level of failure I attain, lol.
