No Cheese Week

I'm sure I'm not the only one who has one food that they just LOVE.
You eat it at everything meal, you grab it for a snack, it makes your belly rumble when you look at delisch looking pics of in on pinterest.

For me, my dear friends, that food is cheese.

You see, from age 7-14 I have a milk allergy. For 7 years of my life, I could not eat cheese.
That was a very dark time for me. All that fake cheese junk ain't got nothing on some tried and true sliced white american fresh cute from the deli.Ooooh momma I could eat that stuff all day.

After I grew out of my milk allergy (you go immune system), the thing I started eating ALL THE TIME was cheese. Cheese slices, cheese strings, mac and cheese, cheesy soups, oooh boy. Can't get enough of that stuff.  Favorite food? Mac and cheese. Thing I ask for on my birthday dinner? No, not steak or anything fancy. Just some plain old shells and cheese would be swell for me. I think cafeteria ladies who work in the sandwich line know me as the "cheese girl" now or something, cause I'm the only one who goes through the sandwich line to just get cheese. Bread and ham? Pffh. So inferior.

ANYWAY. Why am I telling you all about my slightly-obsessive relationship with cheese?

Because I'm going on a NO CHEESE WEEK.

SAY IT AIN'T SO!!!

You heard me right. I've just been feeling some extra chub chubs around the tub tub these days, and thought  I should try cutting cheese out of my diet for a week and seeing the effect it had. So, today marks day one. Weighed myself this morning, and have successfully gone TWO MEALS so far with no cheese. Only 19 more to go.

I appreciate your support on this journey into uncharted territory.

It's going to be a long week my friends.

  3. You are a brave, brave girl! This would be no small feat for me as I am a lover cheese as well, although my biggest foody vice is carbs. Bead, pasta, rice, ect wouldn't live without it unless it was a life or death situation. I even went on a two day bakery crawl for my birthday.

After all that rambling, you can do this and when you finish the no cheese week you should go out and celebrate with a fancy cheese! Maybe even start buying some of the fancier stuff more often so you eat fewer quantities but higher quality.

  5. I'm the same way! I eat cheese on pretty much everything and at almost every meal, so I feel your pain! I tried cutting down on my cheese intake last week, but it's pretty much back to normal now. Good luck! A week isn't too bad though. You can do it! :)

PS - Thanks for featuring my skirt tutorial! :)

  6. Cheese is a major weak spot for me too...hang in there! You can do this! It just takes good decisions and moderation and you'll tame your "chub-chub"! I'm looking forward to hearing how the rest of your week went!

  7. OMG I couldn't ever give up cheese. I used to eat it for breakfast- just cheese. My friends joke bout my cheese habit. I discovered your blog and I looked through many pages (so if you see a bunch of "page visits" from South Africa, that's me!) I hope you have time to follow my life in SA at http://withoutcomplexities.blogspot.com

  8. I LOVE cheese, too. For a short time my husband and I tried a vegan diet, but I just could NOT get past the fake cheese thing. No matter what they do to it, it just isn't the same! Good luck on your journey. It will definitely teach you some good self-discipline. Then you can go back to eating cheese! :)

Oh and I will say that I recently learned that sugar contributes much more to body fat than fat does. It's true!

  9. Well, I have been living without cheese for sometime now, but once a month or so I do have a pizza (almost without it but just a bit). And you know what: you'll feel great after because cheese is NOT a good food, trust me, your inside will totally appreciate your initiative!

  11. WOW!!! I'm a big cheese fanatic myself. In fact, I think I eat it every day. I too was allergic in high school and the beginning of college (sucks when everyone is eating pizza). Thank goodness I can eat it again. I will be thinking of you and I know you can do it!!!
