DIY Christmas Ball Wreath

I realized today that there are only THREE more full weeks until Christmas!! And I have way more than three Christmas projects left to share so expect more craft posts until Christmas!!

I'm sure you've seen these all over pinterest from other bloggers, and I could not resist joining to make my own Christmas Ornament Wreath! My front door looks so festive now I love it :)

To make your own you need hot glue, a bunch of ornaments, and a wire hanger. A big bow is optional.

Now, as you can see in the above picture, there is no hanger pictured but wire. All of the wire hangers in my house were SUPER hard to undo, so I thought I would make mine out of beading wire. BAD IDEA. Unless you have a really thick gauge wire around, stick to a hanger. I strung my wreath and hung it up and it just started sagging. Super sad. So, power through with the wire hanger: grab some sturdy pliers to help unwind it. (of course I forgot of picture of that)

Before starting on the wreath make sure you hot glue the caps on all of your ornaments This will prevent them from popping off after they are all squished on the hanger together. I used a big thing of ornaments from Walmart (I think it came with 50) and supplemented with just a few smaller ones from Target.

Start stringing the ornaments on the undone hanger. I'd recommend counting your colors and creating a color pattern before you attempt to string them...I think I redid mine like 4 times before I actually got it right. And always use more ornaments than you think! They all squish together so you need more than you'd expect.

After the hanger is full, twist the end of then hanger around the original hook. My hanger had SUPER thick/strong wire so it was not easy! But I managed to finagle the wire together.

And to cover up the messy wire, I just threw a big red bow on that I got from the dollar store!

Now my front door is so festive and Christmas-y! I love walking in the door now :)

Merry three weeks and one day until Christmas!!! :)

I'll be linking up to these parties:
