Anthropologie Fringe Necklace Knock-Off

Would you believe me if I told you that you could knock-off this designer necklace from Anthropologie that retails over $300 for less than $20???

Because you totally can :)

This "Axelle Fringe Necklace" retails for $338...

My version? All you need are a few packs of beads, some chain, wire and patience you can make your own stunning statement necklace that looks designer but comes at a budget!

And believe me...this necklace looks AMAZING on. This started as just a knock-off project for the blog but now it's seriously my favorite necklace!

Let me show you how to make your own!

Supplies:

All of my supplies came from Cousin DIY which can be found online or at most local craft stores. I used round beads, 24 gauge wire, chain, jump rings, a clasp, head pins, needle nose pliers, round nose pliers and wire cutters.

Steps:

Cut a length of wire using wire cutters about 3 inches long

Use round nose pliers to bend one end of the wire around into a loop

Wrap the tail of the loop around the base of the wire to form a wire wrapped loop

Add a bead

Use round nose pliers to form a loop on the other end of the piece of wire

Once again wrap the tail of the loop around the base of the wire to form a wire wrapped loop. Trim off any excess wire using wire cutters.

One link done!

Cut another piece of wire and start the process of forming another wire wrapped loop, but before wrapping the tail around the wire base string on the already made link.

Add on another bead

And finish off this link with another wire wrapped link

Repeat this process until you have a chain that is necklace length

Next cut a length of chain using wire cutters slightly longer than the length of your beaded chain

And a metal round bead onto a head pin

Bend the head pin back 90 degrees using needle nose pliers directly above the bead

Trim off all but about a half inch tail using wire cutters

Use round nose pliers to bend the tail back around into a loop.  Squeeze the loop shut using needle nose pliers.

Start forming another chain of wire wrapped beaded loops, leaving this bead on the headpin as the last link on the chain.

This first strand should have 10 beads total: one from the bead on the head pin and nine more beads on wire wrapped loops.  Connect this strand of beads to the center of your chain using a jump ring and needle nose pliers.

Continue to create strands of wire wrappd beads with one bead on a head pin on the end in decreasing bead amounts: you will need two more strands of 9, two of 8, two of 7, etc. until you end with two strands of two on either side of the necklace

Line up your chain with fringe and beaded chain

Connect a clasp to the ends of the necklace by attaching a lobster claw clasp to one end using a jump ring and two jump rings on the other side.

After the clasp is connected, your necklace is done!

I just love how the fringe on this necklace lays!  It will take some time to complete all the wire-wrapping by hand but I totally think it's worth it in the end.

And besides: you're saving yourself over $300 by making this necklace by hand! So worth the time it takes to make...at least I think so :)

What do you think: does it look close enough to the original? Would you be willing to give it a try? View all of my other Anthro Knock-Offs here!

  3. I'm looking forward to making this. Thanks! Question. All in all, about how long did it take you to make? Also, Anthropologie's was made of 14k vermeil (gold plated over sterling silver). Do you have a recommendation to where I can purchase this in bulk. I suppose I can google this too.

  4. Insurance organizations think about your driving reason while computing rates. A "drives to business or work" rate is higher than a "delight" rate. In the event that you don't work or in the event that you carpool or utilize open transportation, you have to inform your operator and request a decreased rate. https://www.usacheckcashingstore.com/chula-vista
