Yarn Wrapped Felt Flower Wreath

Today I have a nice neutral wreath to show off which is the newest addition to my front door:

I've only made a few wreaths so far, but they have all just been for the holidays.  I had been meaning to make a nice neutral one for awhile, and this is what I came up with!

I started with a foam wreath form and some neutral tan yarn.  I figured since I was going for neutral that would be a good place to start :)  I wrapped the whole wreath in the yarn hot gluing it in place along the way.

To embellish, I thought I'd add some cute little felt flowers.  I love the classic felt flower tutorial from Mrs. Priss, so I went with that design! Cut out six large petals and six smaller petals (I drew a template out on cardboard) and a circle with felt.

To put in the center of my flowers, I used these adorable buttons from Wholeport!

Put a dab of hot glue the  bottom center of the smaller petals and pinch together.

Put another dab of hot glue in the bottom center of the larger petals and place a smaller petal on top and pinch the sides together.

Glue each petal to the felt circle like so....

Until it's looking nice and ugly....

And then BAM! Hot glue a button in the middle and now you've got a super cute flower!

I made two of the larger flowers, and then made three smaller ones with smaller buttons I got from Walmart.

I hot glued the flowers on in a cluster to the wreath form, and then I was done!

I think these flowers are just so adorable. Perfect neutral wreath for these spring/summer months we are in now.

The color of the felt also coordinates nicely with my burgundy front door! Double plus :)
