8 Months In and Over 50 Pounds Down

Well friends another month has gone by and I figured I'd pop in to give another update on my weight loss journey. Last month I shared that I had FINALLY dropped beneath 200 pounds on the scale.  That was such a huge deal for me! It has been a LONG time I've seen my weight with a "1" at the start!! I'm happy to report that I've dropped another 5 pounds since last month for a total of 52 pounds down.  Yay!!

I've been blogging about this journey from the start and I've shared with close friends and family, but I was always hesitant to post much about it on my own facebook page.  I feel more comforable writing about this journey on my blog to essentially strangers than I do posting about it to my own real friends haha! I posted about it for the first time right before hubby and I left for Jamaica in May and I hit 30 pounds down, and last week I finally posted an update on facebook showing these two photos and announcing that I had officially reached 50 pounds down.

I felt like a million  bucks that day.  I had 127 people like that status! Hah! I'm wearing the same dress in the two pictures, some people didn't even realize that.  It lays completely different on me now that I'm over 50 pounds lighter!

 

To celebrate passing the 50 pounds mark I went and did a little shopping over Labor Day weekend.  I tried on a pair of skinny jeans at the Loft and on a whim grabbed a pair in size 12.  Can you believe they actually fit!!!





So of course I had to do another comparison photo...the picture on the left is from last fall where I was SQUEEZING into those size 16 pants. Now I'm still squeezing but it's into size 12s.  Woot!!!

 

Where I really see the most progress though? In my belly area.  This is pretty intimadating to post online, but after I shared my weight last month this doesn't seem quite as scary to post.  I'm 246 pounds on the picture in the left and down to 194 in the picture in the right. Oy vay!

I'm still not nearly where I want to be yet but I've seen enough progress I finally feel brave enough to post a picture of me in a sports bra on the interwebs hah. I crack up at the skin color difference in these photos.  Nice to see that by September I FINALLY have aquired a little bit of a tan. Except for my tummy...because lord knows I'm not ready for a bikini yet...

 

So...I'm still plugging away.  It's crazy to me to think I've been committed to this for 8 months now! I have such a better attitude about it now.  I KNOW i'm committed.  Going back just isn't an option anymore! I will always have slip ups (like this weekend when friends and I went up to the mountains and I ate like fat Becca alllll weekend long) but I always get back on track on Monday.  I start counting my calories again and go to my weekly Zumba class.  And I show up in style with my cute new workout clothes from Fabletics :)

Seriously though, matching workout clothes make me feel so motivated to workout haha! I am offically addicted to Fabletics.
