Thanksgiving Outfit Plans with Catch Bliss Boutique

As I prepared for Thanksgiving this year I planned two specific things: what food item I was going to make for each Thanksgiving meal I went to, and what I was going to wear to stuff my face all day long and still be comfortable :)

I'm making Greek yogurt pumpkin parfaits for an early brunch/lunch Thanksgiving with my family, a raw brussel sprout salad for dinner at my boyfriends family's house, and I'm wearing this adorable little outfit to both events!

The most important part when outfit planning for Thanksgiving? LEGGINGS!!!! Hahaha. There is no way I wanted to be stuck in pants while I would be going to TWO different Thanksgiving meals within 5 hours. Gulp.

Luckily I have a pair of basic brown leggings that I could pair with my new Jaden Top I just got from  Catch Bliss Boutique. Paired with some cute brown boots and this darcy bow belt I'm all ready for a day of feasting while still being comfortable!

I love how versatile this top is:  I can switch up the whole look by swapping out the brown leggings for some khakis, adding some little booties and throwing on a fun scarf!

White Jeggings and Flowy Tank Outfit with Kiki La Rue

You know what I never imagined being able to do when I was 246 pounds? Wear a pair of WHITE PANTS and feel confident in them!!! I feel like white pants can be so unforgiving...depending on the brand and how thick they are I feel like so many kinds show cellulite through them and I just never found a pair that looked flattering on me when I was heavy.  So for like the first time in my life I FOUND a pair of white pants that I am ROCKING and think would look great on anyone else too!

These Everyday Jeggings from Kiki La Rue fit like buttah and I'm dying over how comfy they are to wear and how AMAZING they look on! They are a great thickness too: thin enough to still be jeggings and cozy but thick enough to not let any cellulite show though.

Since it's still summer and warm out I paired these leggings with the Bogota Tank in Mint from Kiki La Rue because I think that mint/turquoise and white are just a perfect warm weather color combo.  I know summer is on the way out but this outfit gives me alllll the tropical vibes and makes me wish summer would hang around awhile longer :)

Oh, and of course the tank is flowy in alllll the right places to give you shape but it still has a relaxed feel to it.

For this outfit I paired it with a mint and white statement necklace from Charming Charlie and some white sandal pumps from DSW. Confession: I went out and bought these pumps for the sole purpose of wearing them with these jeggings.  Oh, and because I had a $10 DSW rewards certificate that was just about to expire and LORD KNOWS I couldn't let that go to waste.

Love With Food Review

I'm a girl who likes to snack.

I know that some people who strictly track their macros or follow a diet plan like to plan larger meals to enjoy and thus don't snack much between meals to save room for a larger meal.  That is NOT me.  If I don't snack, especially in the afternoon while at work, I get HANGRY. Thus, I was really excited to try out the Love with Food subscription service because I'm always looking for new, healthy snacks to munch on.

Eshakti Dress Review

Since loosing weight I've had to get rid of a LOT of clothes.  A good problem if you ask me :) but a problem none the less! Eshaki invited me to try a dress out from one of their new collections and I agreed to help replenish my wardrobe with some smaller option!

I picked out the Pearl Beaded Polydupion Dress and it is beautiful! The beaded neckline is definitely the most stunning part of the dress, it makes it very elegant.

The dress has a nice amount of "poof" in the skirt making it very full and formal, I really need to get invited somewhere fancy now so I can have some place to wear this!

If I could have changed one thing about the dress though I would have shortened the length just a bit. It's a shame I didn't think to do it before I ordered it because eShakti does offer customization on all of their pieces! For this dress you could have picked different sleeve lengths or a longer/shorter length.

Overall I still really like the dress though. Next time I will remember to review the customization offers a little better!!! If you want to check out eShakti, you can register online to get a $25 credit towards a new purchase!

Fun Workouts with Just Dance 2015

If you've been keeping up with my blog this week or checking in at all over the last 10 months you would know that I have been going on quite a fitness journey! I posted on Wednesday that I've lost over 65 pounds since January! One of the biggest factors that has helped me lose weight has been working out pretty much every day. By now it's second nature to me: I find time everyday to fit it in.  But back when I first started it was sometimes really hard to find the motivation.  What really helped was having some fun options that didn't really feel like working out!

I played a lot of Just Dance 2014 when I first started loosing weight because I could do it right in my own living room and it was FUN! I played and played until I knew all the moves to the songs! I was really excited to hear that Just Dance 2015 had been released because I was ready for some new songs to groove to!!!

You don't have to be a fabulous dancer to play Just Dance 2015, you just follow along as best as you can and have fun! My trick it to view it as a workout.  Get your sneakers on, throw your sports bra on, don't be afraid to jump around and get into it because that's how you will really work up a sweat!

The game is really fun to play on your own as a workout, but it is also such a fun activity to play with a group of friends! We had a couple friends over for Halloween this year.  We ate some food, had some drinks and then settled down into the family room...and I could feel if we didn't do SOMETHING I was going to just fall asleep on the couch! So we decided to get moving and put Just Dance 2015 on and everyone got dancing in their costumes!

This was a leprechaun and his pot of gold at the end of the rainbow ;)

Shawn and I got dancing as well: Shawn was dressed up in a bunch of military gear so he stripped down to be more mobile and I put some leggings on under my flapper dress so I wouldn't flash our guests and we got grooving!

There are so many different songs you can dance to on the new game, this was a couple dance! It was fun to get to interact with each other and spin and twist and even sneak a few kisses in :)

This was "Bailando" by Enrique Iglesias, and there are soooo many other good songs on the game.  Some of my favorites are "Black Widow" by Iggy Azalea, "Maps" by Maroon 5 and "Bang Bang" by Jessie J, Ariana Grande & Nicki Minaj.

This is a great game for adult AND kids and teens alike.  The new songs and wacky choreography in Just Dance 2015 encourage kids and teens to let loose and just be themselves! Ubisoft, the game maker, values individuality so much so that they have partnered with Stomp out Bullying to show everyone that it's ok to dance to your own beat!

Overall I am really enjoying the new songs and dances in Just Dance 2015.  I need to keep practicing so I can beat all of our friends next time they come over and keep sweating so I can burn more calories!!!

New Glasses from Firmoo

I've finally revved up my glasses fashion! I feel like I'm always a couple trends behind with my glasses...probably because I so rarely replace them since I mostly wear them on nights and weekends only. Getting new glasses with every new eye perscription I received used to be way too expsnesive...until I discovered  Firmoo!

Firmoo has so many fashionable glasses styles at really great prices.  Their website is also really easy to work with; I picked out these frames in black and got to "try them on" virtually before ordering them. They also feature real people wearing the glasses which helped me get a better idea of the scale of the glass on real people's faces!.

Now if I ever want to give my eyeballs a break during the week I won't have to be super embarrased to wear my old lame-o frames into work.  All up to speed in the style department now :)

Connections by Hallmark Cards

I am a member of the Collective Bias® Social Fabric® Community. This shop has been compensated as part of a social shopper amplification for Collective Bias and its advertiser.

Today I have such a fun and sassy gift giving idea involving the new connections from hallmark cards available at walmart!

One of the things I miss most about no longer being in college is not having a gaggle of girlfriends just around the dorm room corner. I met so many awesome ladies at college and we did EVERYTHING together: we had classes together, would eat meals together, hang out on the weekend, even email each other stupid funny memes in the middle of class even though we KNEW we would each bust out laughing in the middle of a boring lecture. Whoops! We still text each other funny things from time to time (honey boo boo quotes anyone??) but nothing is as good as being together and being able to laugh in person.

That's why I was so excited that we were all meeting up last week weekend for a girls beach weekend trip! This is our second annual outing and I think it will be become a tradition - it's so nice to be able to see old friends that are all over the map in the same location again! We were all looking forward to some girl time, tanning on the beach, and drinking by the hotel pool bar ;)

Before heading out for our beach weekend I made a stop at Walmart and decided to pick out something funny to bring along for the girls.

I stopped at the card section and perused the new Buzzworthy Cards from Hallmark. These new cards are hysterical! They are rotated out every few weeks so they are always applicable to the current season. I loved this funny card I found: "I get my summer glow from a bottle... It's called 'Chardonnay'"

If you've been around here for any length of time you know that I'm a big wine fan. This card was just too funny to pass up! Of course, I had to pick up a couple bottles of "summer glow" to bring on the beach weekend to share with the girls:

I wrapped everything up all girly and cute and it was the perfect little card and treat to bring along for our girls weekend!!! Drinking wine out of a little mini bottle on the beach? That's my kind of summer glow for sure :)

This card was the perfect gift way to start our weekend off with some giggles. There were so many other funny options that I'm sure you could find a quirky and trendy card for any funny occasion you need! While you are stocking up on cards, remember that you can earn Hallmark rewards for every Hallmark card you buy at Walmart! For every 5 cards you buy you earn a reward.

Make sure you check out Connections from Hallmark to sign up for Hallmark Rewards, and to see great content from other bloggers. Join in the #Tendycards conversation on Twitter! #Trendycards #CollectiveBias

How I #SparkleWithDASANI and Zumba!

This is a sponsored post but all opinions are my own.

Since I've started my fitness journey and have been losing weight I have cut out all regular soda products.  Regular soda has WAY too many calories to be worth drinking!  However, I still do like drinking something besides plain water everyday so diet soda and flavored water products have been a nice treat for me. I was excited to get to try out the new DASANI Sparkling flavored water beverages for a new beverage treat.  With 0 calories per serving and the refreshing flavors of berry, lemon, lime and apple, these sparkling cans of water were a hit for me!!

Because the new DASANI sparkling waters are fun, fresh and (most importantly) sparkly, DASANI had to do something awesome to celebrate....and what could be more awesome than winning a FREE trip to Florida??

That's right! DASANI is giving away a free trip to Ft. Lauderdale Florida for you and three friends!  It's SUPER easy to enter.  All you have to do is upload a picture of what makes YOU sparkle to twitter or instagram with the hastage #SparkleWithDASANI. Be sure to follow @dasaniwater so they can contact you if you win! That's it!

DASANI wants to know what makes you sparkle in your everyday life: your kids, your hobby, spending some "me" time getting a manicure, whatever it is just snap a pic and upload it to twitter with the hashtag for a chance to win the free trip! I entered the contest with this picture hubby snapped before I left for the gym, because going to ZUMBA makes me sparkle!!!

I love getting in a good workout by just being able to dance and have fun! Wearing cute workout clothes with a matching sparkly headband are also pretty enjoyable too :)

But enough about me...let's hear more about Florida! If you are the lucky winner of the contest you will win...

Roundtrip airfare for you and three guests to Ft. Lauderdale, FL

Two deluxe rooms at the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa for three nights

PLUS two 50-minute spa treatments per guest.  Sounds amazing to me!!! For more info on the contest go here and don't forget, just use hastage #SparkleWithDASANI when you upload a photo to twitter or instagram of you doing what makes you sparkle!

Trying out Neutrogena's New Triple Repair Haircare Line & GIVEAWAY

Ok I admit it - I'm pretty cheap when it comes to buying shampoo. I used to buy the $1 bottles in college until I figured out that they were indeed pretty crappy hence why they only cost a dollar. I've upgraded slightly since then but I'm still guilty of just grabbing a cheap and good smelling bottle off the shelf without really looking into what it will actually do to my hair.

Since I have a pretty crappy track record, I was excited to get the chance to try out the new line of Triple Repair Haircare products by Neutrogena. These new products are SERIOUS. Hair is clinically proven to be three times stronger after only one use of the shampoo, conditioner and leave-in treatment!

I've never even used a leave-in treatment before so by adding the leave-in treatment into my hair care process this past week I've noticed a big difference in my hair - I'm pulling a lot less hair out every morning when I brush my wet hair out. The Triple Repair fortifying leave-in treatment actually reduces breakage by 80% which is GREAT for strong hair. Female hair loss/thinning runs in the women in my family so taking this extra step to get stronger hair is an important step for me to getting healthy hair.

By using the Triple Repair shampoo, conditioner and leave-in treatment tests have proved that this hair care system instantly repairs the the three major signs of hair damage: mends split ends, strengthens brittle hair, and protects from breakage.
As you can maybe tell from my ends in this picture, I only get my hair cut every 6-12 months.  Whoops! So split ends can be a major issue for me. The Triple Repair Fortifying shampoo and conditioner mends  97% percent of split end after only one use. Having a hair care system that fixes split ends without dropping $50 bucks for a trim? Sounds good to me :)

I generally am pretty nice to my hair: I favor towel drying over blow drying as much as possible and I only use heat to style it every so often for fancy occasions.  I know that not everyone is so lucky to have hair that will airdry looking decent though so blow drying and heat styling are a MUST for some. With the new Triple Haircare line, hair is protected against heat styling over 400 degrees (get the style without the damage!!). The system contains nutrient rich conditioners to rebuild hair and protect against heat, color and styling which is great news for anyone with hair coloring damage or heat damaged hair.

Necessary Clothing - Discount Trend Clothing

I've got something a little girly...a little pink...and a little pointy to share with you all today!

How doya like my new shoes? I love them! They are the Pink Potion Pumps from Necessary Clothing which is a discount online store for women's trend in clothing and accessories.

Now that spring is here and summer is around the corner I am ready to break out all the color in my wardrobe! I've never been afraid of color and especially not in a pair of cute high heels! These fun shoes are the perfect addition to my spring wardrobe - I paired them with a tight pair of jeggings and a colorful floral printed top.  These heels add the perfect amount of oomf to kick this basic outfit up a notch to be perfect for going out to happy hour with some friends!

I was also really impressed with the quality of these shoes.  I buy a lot of cheap shoes, I'll be honest haha. I get a lot of shoes from Payless because they are cheap and cute, but eventually they all wear out.  Even though these shoes cost the same amount as a pair from Payless I immediately noticed the quality difference.  The material was a smooth suede and the buckle was very sturdy.

Necessary Clothing has a lot more than cute pink pumps: here are some of my other favorite picks from online!

And ok ok, they do have more colors than pink, but why would you buy any of them?? Haha just kidding. I just like the pink items best.  My blog IS called My Girlish Whims after all.  For more affordable and trendy clothes and accessories, be sure to check out Necessary Clothing online or follow them on their social networks: facebook, twitter, instagram and Pinterest!

Finding my Style with Kleenex

I'm still trying to refine and develop my home decor style.  We've been in our house for two year now and I think that as each season passes I'm getting a littllle better with my decor choices and placement, but there is certainly still room for improvement.

I was excited to see that for Kleenex’s 90th anniversary, they’re coming out with an innovative first: The Kleenex® Style Studio. It’s a fun, inspiring way to discover more of the Kleenex® Brand designs and products you love!
http://r.linqia.cc/549c72f

It was really cool to discover all the awesome new patterns that Kleenex has come out with - blowing your noes no longer has to be boring and mundane - it can be super stylish as well!!

Kleenex is even DESIGNER stylish now - Kleenex partnered with Isaac Mizrahi to create 4 designs to help you express your personal style and to incorporate all the latest fashion trends.  Check out the Style Finder to watch videos featuring Isaac Mizrahi providing his latest style advice!

After checking out the awesome designs online at the style finder I headed out to Target to pick up a few of my own boxes to style in my space.  I got a pretty metallic box, a graphic floral print (one of the Isaac Mizrahi designs!) and a watercolor floral box.
http://r.linqia.cc/549c72f

I decided to use the metallic box to style in one the bookshelves in my family room.  I rearranged a few things and pulled in some extra pieces to give it a fresh spring look. I'll never be a "professional stager" but for my beginner experience I think it turned out cute :)
http://r.linqia.cc/549c72f

I love how the Kleenex box looks stylish AND is functional: I go through a LOT of tissues and it's so much nicer to have them blend in and actually contribute to my decor rather being a dingy looking box on the coffee table that looks like it came straight out of my grandma's apartment.
http://r.linqia.cc/549c72f

Styling with Kleenex helped me push my design style - my favorite shelf I styled was this bottom one with the candle/book combo - so cute!! Even this shelf is functional too - I'll never be one of those bloggers who buys old books to use in their decor, I've got enough of my own laying around I need to store! I just pulled out a couple of blue books (and frantically scrapped off the ugly orange price sticker leftover from one I bought used!!) and sans pricetag I think they look nice on display.
